He was born in Tegal, 26 June 1968. He graduated from Theater Program at Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) Yogyakarta. His short short story books are Memorabilia (Yayasan untuk Indonesia, 1999), Bapak Presiden yang Terhormat (Pustaka Pelajar, 2000), Selingkuh Itu Indah (Galang Press, 2001), Rendezvous: Kisah Cinta yang Tak Setia (Galang Press, 2004), Potongan Cerita di Kartu Pos (Penerbit Buku Kompas, 2006), Sebungkus Nasi dari Tuhan, Sepasang Mata Penari Telanjang, Matinya Toekang Kritik (Lamalera, 2006), Sepotong Bibir Paling Indah di Dunia (Bentang, 2010), Cerita Buat Para Kekasih (Gramedia Pustaka Utama, 2015), Memorabilia & Melankolia (Gambang Buku Budaya, 2016).

He was awarded the Best Short Story Writer in Yogyakarta Art Festival in 1992. He also obtained a certificate from Indonesian Short Story Award from Jakarta Art Council in 1992 for his three short stories, namely “Keluarga Bahagia,” “Dzikir Sebutir Peluru” and “Tak Ada Mawar di Jalan Raya”. His short story “Pemburu” was proclaimed the best short story in Horison for 1990-2000. “Piknik” is listed in the nominations for Cultural Award 2006 from Art and Culture Department for short story category.
